This series were taken during my recent trip to Iceland, mostly on M1 while I was touring around the island.
In a land so desolate and uninhabited, where most areas remain the way they have been ever since the planet was formed, it takes full courage to record the nature while she exposes herself without any fear. Ironically, the landscapes sometimes are too unfamiliar to recognize that I cannot stop doubting if I am still standing on Earth. The human senses become extremely sensitive during this private and scared confrontation. Slowly and silently, everything is coming and going on this purely innocent, genuine and never-ending land.
No matter how much I intend to go off the road, eventually I find myself following certain tracks in order to precede my journeys. The existence of roads adds extra passiveness and dependency to people, yet only the active and independent enough ones are able to judge the right direction, to progress safe and sound. When destination is constantly unknown, what one truly sees becomes the matter of being. When there are too many metaphors on the subject, I cannot help but record what I see in complete honesty, in my very personal way of seeing.
